GA:4 SPECPOL
Special Political and Decolonization Committee
ABOUT
Welcome to the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (SPECPOL) at MUNDERES’25. This year, we will be focusing on enduring challenge in global politics: Preventing Colonialism in Conflict Zones.
Although traditional colonialism has largely been dismantled, its shadow lingers in regions plagued by instability and conflict. Through practices like political interference, resource exploitation, and economic domination, neo-colonialism continues to hinder sovereignty and development, often exacerbating the struggles of nations already torn apart by war. In these zones, the line between peacebuilding and exploitation becomes dangerously thin, making it crucial for the international community to act decisively to prevent further harm.
Your role as delegates is to adress these challenges with focus and determination. You will examine how modern colonialism continues to exist and create strong plans to protect self-determination, sovereignty, and equality. Along with solving current problems in conflict zones, you will also work to prevent similar issues from arising in the future.
Together, let us rise to the challenge and work toward a world where no nation is held back by the remnants of colonialism, and every people has the chance to thrive in peace, stability, and dignity.
